The one that was the calm before the storm.
Much of the news headlines leading up to Saturday were all about the threat of the incoming Storm Ciara, but we were blessed with a calm, but damp morning in East Brighton Park. Overnight rain meant a slight amendment to the course, but there was nothing to stop 69 runners, joggers and walkers – plus a hearty band of volunteers – from having the best start to the morning.
The Hi-Viz heroes were hard at work popping in the stakes, flags and lining up cones ahead of a fun morning. Huge thanks to:

Our fun in the park can’t happen each week without our volunteers so if you would like to help out in the coming weeks, drop the team a line at email@example.com
It was my first visit to the park with the café in full flow and what a wonderful attraction it is. There was a real sense of community in there and it’s the perfect place to meet fellow parkrunners, bring family members to watch you from (if you can’t persuade them to take part) or to simply savour a cuppa and toast your achievement! (Just leave your muddy shoes at the door!)
A big welcome to the parkrun family for Harry, Katina and Emma who recorded their first parkrun today – Saturday mornings will never be the same again. All in all, Saturday saw 15 debutantes to East Brighton and the trick now is to tell all of your friends about how wonderful it is!
You can see all of the scores on the doors below:
This week 69 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part. The event was made possible by 15 volunteers.
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the East Brighton parkrun Results Page.
What a muddy wonderful morning at East Brighton parkrun and thanks to everyone who made the event possible. I can’t wait to head back for more tea (and of course a run) and it’s wonderful to see the event go from strength to strength!
See you soon!
