Bobble hat – check
Barcode - check
Big smile - check
Right, that means I'm ready to go to the happiest place on a Saturday morning - East Brighton parkrun!
After all the wet and windy weather we've been having recently, it was lovely to see that the ground had dried out, and was ready for the barcode-bearing bunch of parkrunners this morning. Spring is definitely on its way - I can feel it!
The Portslade Hedgehoppers joined us today, and all did brilliantly today. We'd love to have them visit us again very soon.
I also met the lovely Danny, who was walking his first ever parkrun today (and what better place to do that than at EB?) With the brilliant warm welcome from everyone, I'm sure he'll be back again.
What I love about EB is the variety of people who come along each week. People of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities come along with one thing in common - to cover a 5k distance. Some run, some walk, and some do their own thing in between. Personally, I do a combination of running and walking, which works well for me. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how we do it, because we know that we'll always be met with friendly faces along the way.
As always, a big Thank You to our hi-viz volunteers, who make sure everything is set up for us, and keep us safe on our way round. If you'd like to help out, do drop the team an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or have a chat with one of the volunteers when you're next there.
It's International Women's Day tomorrow, so make sure you use this weekend to celebrate all the women in your life!
That's all from me today. Thanks again to everyone for making EB parkrun such a wonderful place to be on a Saturday morning. You all keep me going, and you all make me smile!
