This week 270 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 36 were first timers and 26 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 31 different clubs took part.

One of those first timers was Fran who completed her first 5k today freshly graduated from the Wheathamstead Warriors New Runners course!

We look forward to seeing you next week Fran!

We were hoping for a higher proportion of female to male runners today - we came close with 118 females but the males pipped it at 145. Lets try to tip the balance in the other direction in June for the #ThisGirlCan event!

16 of our 24 volunteers were female - so we nudged ahead on that stat!

Our first female home on #IWD was Joanna Parker in 7th place.

The event was made possible by 24 stupendous and very gorgeous volunteers:20200307_114048

Special thank you to everyone who signed up to be a volunteer over the coming weeks - I was planning to have the clip board out and badger you all - but not only was that completely unnecessary - I got totally distracted by the #IWD selfie frame and photo-bombing!
No nagging required! You lot really are the best!

Attendance is down quite a bit on the last few weeks, not sure what it could possibly be?

It was the first time in forever we didn't get soaked through- the mud perhaps - (although it is drying out ((a little)) shoes with a good grip are best) puts some people off. We have looked into an alternative course to allow the grassy muddy areas time to recover but we have not yet been able to reach a satisfactory result. In the meantime please continue to take care on the course and keep an eye on your fellow parkrunnners.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Ellenbrook Fields parkrun Results Page.
