Welcome and well done to all those that got themselves out of bed on this beautiful sunny morning and conquered Ferry Meadows parkrun number 344.
Whether you ran, walked, hopped or skipped across the finish line it is a huge achievement!
Also thank you to all the volunteers that make these parkruns possible, for standing out in the cold and keeping us going.
Everyone that comes to parkrun has set out to achieve something, whether that is a specific time, milestone, coming back from injury or just to get out and see friends and we should all be proud that we do so.
For me it's about coming back from injury and just enjoying the time out on my feet. Sometimes we forget to take in this lovely little part of the world we are in. The peacefulness of the lake and the swans. Families taking time out together in the outdoors. Seeing all the people out supporting friends and loved ones. Runners finishing their runs and coming back to support others and just people supporting people. The array of colours of tops for all different races and events.
It shows what an amazing community that parkun has become, especially in the world that we live in today.
So for me it was nice to take everything in rather than race a time and makes me proud to be part of this community event!
It is also a first time for me volunteering writing this run report, so I hope that I have done it justice and that you have enjoyed reading.
Special mentions for milestones today which are as follows;
10 Club - juniors (aged 17 and under)
