Event #67 -The Mother’s Day one

So, who decided the clocks should go forward on Mothering Sunday?  Someone has a real sense of humour!  However, it meant that there was one whole hour less to wait for junior parkrun and 24 of you joined us for our very special Mother's Day run, walk, hop, skip, jump around our course.

And so it began with a lovely sunny (but chilly) morning and a briefing with the Run Director... with a secret huddle where a special mission was passed on to the children to ensure they collected a special something at the end...

We had a couple of milestones on this special morning - Alberto achieving his Marathon wristband and sealing the deal with a PB too. Congrats for both Alberto.

And Daniel achieving his half marathon wristband (which he collected at the end of the run). Congratulations to you too.

Daniel and Natalie led us through a fabulous Pokémon themed warm up which everyone enjoyed:

And then everyone was off for two laps around the Rec, with mother and daughter Jo and Charlotte as tail walkers keeping you all safe And I think Charlotte makes a very cute unicorn!

Huge shout out to out the amazing volunteers that helped us make junior parkrun a success and for getting up early to join us. Big thank you to all the parents for your continuous support and for bringing your lovely children to us. We hope you all enjoyed your daffodils. Just a small token of our appreciation to you all.
