Festive arrangements 2017

Christmas Day and New Years Day are the only days where events can hold additional runs to our usual Saturdays. Unfortunately as the Gibside grounds are closed on both of these days, we are unable to hold additional events.

Events have until the 12th of December to declare their intention to hold Christmas or New Years Day runs. Check out which events have declared already: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/christmas-compendium/

The start times of the runs can also vary on both Christmas and New Years Day, so please check the start time on the event's website. New Years Day is the only day where you can officially log two parkruns on the same day. Any second runs recorded on Christmas Day will automatically be deleted.

We will still be running as normal on the 23rd and 30th of December. Don't forget your Santa hats for the 23rd!

Festive parkruns 2015/16

Unfortunately we will be unable to hold additional events on Christmas Day or New Years Day as Gibside is closed on both of these days. We will still be taking place as normal on both Saturdays over the festive period - 26th December and 2nd January.

Other events in the region may be holding the additional festive events, so please keep an eye on the Christmas Compendium to see which events have confirmed their intentions.

New Year's Day is the only day when parkrunners can register two runs on the same day. Event start times on the day can vary between 8.30 and 10.30 to allow runners, and often volunteers, to travel safely between the two locations. Please consider your travel arrangements and do not to take risks when travelling between events. Confirmation of which events are planning to go ahead will also be posted on the Christmas Compendium.

This year, as Christmas and New Year's Day fall on a Friday, parkrunners have the chance to clock up 5 parkruns in the space of 9 days! Now if that doesn't get you excited about Christmas, I don't know what will!
