No Run – 7th July 2019

Hi Folks,
We have cancelled the run on 7th July. This is because our small group of Run Directors are all away doing other things that week (We like to take the occasional holiday or have other family commitments once in a while!)
If you'd be happy to become a Run Director, please drop us an email to or speak with one of our RDs next time you're here (we're the ones wearing the blue).  We all take it in turns to be RD and it's really easy to do. We'd appreciate your joining our small team of RDs, - we can't do it without you!

We're back to "business as normal" the following week - 14th July, when Kate will be our RD. Good on you Kate!
Thanks All.

Run #218

We had a great turnout today of 24 runners!!!
Congratulations to:
Beth, Nel, Joshua, Gemma, Aurelia, Jago, Eva, Eliot, Samuel, Emil, Arthur, Eliza and Hal, who all got personal bests this week!!!
William, Eliot, Indiana, Amelie and Aurelia were all new runners this week.
It was great to have so many adults stepping forward to volunteer! We really appreciate that, so adults, please when you arrive just let the Run Director (RD) wearing the blue hi-viz, know that you're available for volunteering - it's a great help to us!
Special thanks to Glynn who reached 50 volunteer role this week!

Well done all our runners. It's great to see you enjoying the fresh air and exercise in this beautiful part of Kent.
See you all next time!

Samuel and Paul

We had the most glorious day for our birthday run.
Runners from past, present, new and visitors from Newark Lincolnshire turned out to help us celebrate....
Some entered in to the party spirit by dressing up, we had flying unicorns, princesses, pirates, a Cat in a hat, one of the lost boys from Peter Pan, fairies and lots of other enthusiastic children.
In true party style we had post run cake, which went down well with parents and runners.
Well done to Jacob, Megan, Eloise for getting PB's this week, well done to Martha for achieving her Half-Marathon wristband and Elliot for his Marathon wristband.
Thank you to all our Marshall's, we cannot do it without you.

Happy running

2018 Summer break for Goudhurst Junior parkrun

Hi All,

This is to let you know that we'll be taking a 4 week break over the Summer. Our last run before the break will take place on 5th August as usual. We're then taking a 4-week break from running at Goudhurst until we return on the 9th of Septemeber.

This is to allow our core volunteer group some time to take their holidays etc..

We are currently a small group of volunteers, so if a couple of us have commitments at the same time it makes it difficult for us to field a team, we just don't have the numbers. This is what is happening over the Summer break. The rules of parkrun Head Office mean we have to have at least three volunteers scheduled for any run to go ahead.

We always welcome volunteers, and increasing our numbers means we'll be less likely to have to cancel any future events.

If you're available to help out anytime from 9th September onwards we'd love to hear from you. Just drop us an email at and put "Volunteer" in the title.

Volunteering is easy. Just let us know which week(s) you can come, and if you have a preference for a role. There are many roles you can do: timing and scanning (both very easy), handing out the tokens as the runners cross the finish (great fun!), general marshalling (stand at a point around the course and cheer the runners on). There's even a role where you can run alongside your child around the whole course! So, something for everyone. Have a look at the "Volunteer" tab and see our future roster for a full list of roles you can help with. We can't do it without you!

Our core volunteer team is currently: Paul, Penny, Kev, and Kate. It would be great if we could add your name to the list!

If you think you'll miss your parkrun fix whilst we're on our break, I'll remind you that the Saturday 5k run at Bedgebury is a beautiful course. Remember though, if you're under 11 you'll need a responsible adult to run it with you.

Happy running!
