Guildford junior parkrun is back! Well, in the form of a board game at least :)

We have put together a board game version of Guildford junior parkrun for you to download and play during the lock-down. All you need is a printer, dice and a counter for each player. The game works a little like snakes and ladders. You need to work your way around the Guildford junior parkrun course and if you land on an outlined number you need to read out and perform the task written on the corresponding Activity Token. The aim is to get to the finish but remember everyone is a winner at parkrun so try not to end the game until everyone has crossed the line and scanned the finish token. We love to welcome tourists so feel free to play along if you are new to Guildford junior parkrun.

The game is available in 4 formats. A4 in colour, A4 in black & white (for you to colour in) and a tiled version of the same size that you connect to make an A3 board.

Good luck everyone and let us know how you get on. We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford junior parkrun soon!

Glad to be back! Event 213

It was brilliant to be back in Stoke Park after several weeks of rain and poor ground conditions. It’s safe to say your Run Directors missed you, and it was fabulous that the sun was shining brightly for our return.

We welcomed 96 of you to the park. 13 of you were first timers – we hope you enjoyed it and will come and join us again soon. I particularly enjoyed chatting to some visitors from Hogmoor. Amazingly 14 of you achieved a PB!!! Imagine how fast you will go once the ground dries out.

We had a great show of volunteers which can sometimes be tricky especially on the Surrey half weekend. If you are able to volunteer in future weeks, please email in to guildford juniors. We had lots of Duke of Edinburgh helpers around the course, helping you navigate some of the difficult muddy parts and lots helping out at the finish.

Love was also in the air, as we congratulated Run Directors Shaun and Jyoti on their recent wedding. We presented them with some unique wristbands in good old parkrun tradition, to celebrate their happy day.

Remember if your child has achieved a milestone, please email in on the week you are attending so we can present them with their wristband.

Fingers and toes crossed for some drier weather to help dry the course out. We look forward to seeing you all next week.

A big welcome to our first timers today, we loved having you! We hoped you enjoyed your first Guildford Junior Parkrun experience.

Congratulations to our Half Marathon wristband achieves; Harry, Flora, Edith & Darcy. Well done to Zach & Heidi for achieving their Marathon wristbands & to Amber for earring her Ultra Marathon wristband. Such a great accomplishment!! Great work guys!!!

The cakes & sweeties went down a real treat with both kids & parents alike. With a special mention for the Shaun the sheep cake which turned out to be the crowd favourite (only one little eye was left on the sheep by the end).

We had plenty of positive feedback from the field & lots of smiling faces.

Additionally, a huge thank you to the Duke of Edinburgh volunteers that helped to man the cake/sweet station. And to our amazing marshals out on the course cheering on & high fiving all of our participants. It was very much appreciated by the whole team.

Finally, next week is our Halloween Junior Parkrun. So please feel free to dress up in your spookiest costume for a great & fun run.

See you all next week.
