Today's run report is written by Kevin Yates, a parkrun tourist from Southampton parkrun, running Guidlford parkrun for the first time.
The cold and rain couldn't stop 319 brave runners completing this weeks parkrun at Stoke Park.
There were huge cheers for Linda Cairns (finally) running her 100th parkrun. Well done Linda, and thank you for everything that you have done.
Another big thank you to all of this mornings volunteers, who did a wonderful job. I hope you have warmed up by now.
There were plenty of parkrun tourists this week, including a bunch of my friends from Lordshill Road Runners based in Southampton who had made a road trip to visit our friend Gary Painting, who is now studying in Guildford, having been Event Director for Southampton parkrun in the past. It was good to see that Gary has moved to a area with another fantastic parkrun.
We left feeling a little jealous of Guildford parkrun. A nice green venue, good Tarmac course, suitable for buggies, and runners with dogs. Fast, with only a few small inclines to test the legs. You really are spoilt with so much free car parking too!
A trip to the local Bowling Club saw us eating breakfast surrounded by many runners in different varieties of parkrun shirts. Always a good sign. Especially when complemented with cake. We really cannot wait to come back for another visit.
Well done to Hannah Skwarska for joining the 10 club, and to Nicole Peppiot for completing her 50th run. 12 forgetful runners forgot their barcodes and so are down as unknown in the results.
