Extra parkruns on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day!!

I know, some of you may think it is really far too early to be planning Christmas!! But surely never too early to let you know about extra parkruns!! We are therefore pleased to confirm that as well as our usual Saturday 5k events at 9am we will once again be hosting extra events on Christmas Day (Tuesday 25th December) and New Year's Day (Tuesday 1st January). Both these events will start at 9am. We will of course need volunteers on these days too!!

For the really keen amongst you, don't forget that you can get two, yes two, run credits on New Year's Day - Cranleigh will be hosting a parkrun at 10.30am which should provide plenty of time to finish Guildford parkrun, get your barcode scanned and get to Cranleigh ready to do it all again!! Yes, we really are spoiling you!!

Festive runs at Stoke Park

I am pleased to let you know that Guildford parkrun will be holding events on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Christmas Day will be normal start time of 9.00 - so you can go for a swim at Spectrum afterwards! New Year's Day we'll let you have a lie in and we won't start until 10.00. Bring your friends and family for some appetite-inducing activity and fresh air. And we will especially welcome any runners or non-runners who are happy to volunteer and help us organise the parkruns. Plenty of jobs for aunties and uncles!
See you there.
Linda

New Year’s Day 2014

Guildford will be holding a freedom run at 10.00 on the 1st January 2014. This is an untimed, informal event for those that want to run the normal parkrun route with a few others. Please note that freedom runs do not count towards parkrun club T-shirts but you can log your time.

I would like to acknowledge all of Guildford parkrun run directors who have been part of the team at some time during 2013: James Adams, Debbie Aitken, Lawrie Baker, Dan Bonilla, Julie Bourne, William Blair, Toby Jenkins, Ellen Johnson, Colin Kiely, Julie Law, and Martyn Thomas. Thank you to you all, you are very dependable team and it is a pleasure working with you. Guildford parkrun has had a very good 2013, and I wish all our volunteers and runners a healthy, active and very happy new year.

Event Director
