Hadleigh parkrun run report #122

What a still and mild parkrun day today compared the wild wind we had last week. Lets hope this is the start of the warmer weather to come.

Firstly myself and the rest of the parkrun team would like to say a massive 'Happy 7th Birthday" and congratulations on your 50th parkrun Sophia Hyde. What an amazing achievement!
For those of you that don't know Sophia, she ran her very first Hadleigh parkrun back in January 2017 at 47:15 and has since reached a PB that we'd all be proud of 34:19.
I once overheard Sophia offering Emma (one of our core team with whom Sophia has a special bond with) some 'encouragement', it went something like this " Come on, why are you sooooo slow?"
We all learnt early on that Sophia is a little girl with a BIG personality.

Poppy a Leigh on sea Strider and junior parkrunner completed her 50th parkrun with us at Hadleigh. She also got a fantastic new PB of 28:09 too! Well done Poppy.

Today also saw Benfleet Running Club Youth Section out in full force. It was great to see all the red and white shirts, we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

At parkrun we support the Duke of Edinburgh award and we have been very lucky with the amount of volunteers we get. They spend either 13 or 26 weeks with us to complete the volunteer aspect of their award and we are always sorry to say goodbye when their time is up. So with that in mind I'd like to say good luck and thank you to Sam Knight who did his final volunteer week with us today. Sam your help has been invaluable and I hope to see you again at parkrun soon (maybe running?).

Lastly a big shout out to all our volunteers, without your continued support this great event couldn't go ahead. If you fancy helping out at parkrun in any way, we'd love to meet you.

See you all again next week. #loveparkrun
