International Women's Day - Haldon Forest parkrun in pictures
07 March 2020 - Event Number 53
Report written by Rona McIntyre & photos taken by Ed Gillam
We had a fabulous International Women's Day parkrun on Saturday, with a good splash of purple clothing, hats and hair to be seen around the course. The purple prize has to go jointly to Karla and Rhianna for their fetching purple hats and hair!
We had a happy group of 23 willing volunteers to fill the various roles around the course and behind the scenes. Thank you all for your hard work making this event happen (and making it fun!). If you volunteer 25 times you get a purple milestone tee, modelled in photos! Whether you've volunteered once or hundreds of times, or anything in between, you are all amazing!
What a colourful crowd of 111 runners, walkers and joggers gathering at the start for the 1st Timer's and RD's Briefings. At this point everyone was upright – but few people had turned ankles today. One of our volunteers today turned an ankle running previous week – so do take care on the trails! Hope you are all recovering and we see you again soon.
