So Storm Dennis is being a real menace and for safety reasons tomorrow’s parkrun at Haldon Forest is cancelled.
Haldon Forest parkrun
Event number 50
8th February 2020
Glorious sunshine welcomed us all to Haldon Forest’s 50th event today, the calm before Storm Ciara arrives tomorrow. Lots of red parkrun 50 shirts could be seen around, including from our run director Adrian.
It was my 50th parkrun today, supported by 5 year old Rowan on his 23rd.
Karla has also done an amazing 50th parkrun volunteer roles as of this morning, thank you so much for everything you give to parkrun.
Mike Davis doubled that and was running his 100th parkrun today, amazing!
As well as milestones and regular runners we also welcomed some people who were brand new to parkrun today, we hope you enjoyed your first run and will come back again soon! We also welcomed a few visitors today from Exmouth and Melton Mowbray amongst others.
Rowan would also like to say a few a few words about this morning’s parkrun:
‘It was amazing and I still beat my Mum even though it was her 50th parkrun. I fell over at the beginning because I slipped on the mud and hurt my knee and hand, but I got up again and helped Mum finish her 50th parkrun, she did super duper well! We shared a yummy chocolate brownie in the cafe afterwards’.
We hope to see you all again soon, stay safe from the storm!!
