Run report, Event #24, 22nd August 2015

First run on our new course

We arrived to find a huge branch had fallen across the route near the monument. Fortunately, our very own Gadget Graham saved the day by nipping home for his tree surgery gadgets and cleared the course with the help of other volunteers. Our volunteers go to amazing lengths to make parkrun happen each week... Many thanks to the "Tree Fellers".

Today was the first run on our new course. Did I mention our amazing volunteers? They can move mountains too! Well maybe not, but certainly removed one hilly bit of the course. Your feedback has been great, with lots of runners telling us how much they liked the new start. What did you think? We'd love to hear.

Another first today - the first time a female runner has been the first across the finish line at Halifax parkrun. Congratulations Tanya Seager.

Lorraine Broadhurst visited Shroggs Park to complete her 90th parkrun today. Congratulations Lorraine.

Forget Me Not Children's Hospice came along and ran the cake stall. Great to see so many purple tops, with runners and volunteers showing their support for this wonderful local charity.
