Well what a fabulous parkrun that was, after a super speedy set up our brilliant team of volunteers had time for a chat and catch up before the masses descended. And as you can see there were lots of you 479 which is our fourth highest ever attendance, simply amazing really.
It was lovely to have so many tourists with us this week, especially lovely to meet the ED of Oakwell Hall parkrun who was visiting.
Lovely as it is to see such huge numbers it does add the odd challenge so please take a moment to take in a few things that would make the event team really happy: Please park sensibly or ideally run, jog, walk or cycle to the Stray. Feel free to ask anyone around you to be quiet during the run briefing Please only go past the finish once and always take a token and give it back (after 6 years we have some new tokens on the way and we really want to keep them all) If you can help with that it would be brilliant. And that's about it, or it would be but looking through this weeks pic's (thanks Andy for taking them) I thought it worth sharing this one.
The amazing Jennie and her guide Matt. Sometimes all you need is a picture or parkrun positivity....
Have a wonderful week.
The Harriers are running the show this Saturday and the Fair is in town so its going to be mega.
See you soon.
Just a few reminders:
Post run refreshments - Join us at Caffe Marconi (2 Princes Square) each week after parkrun to catch up, process the results, have a coffee and a good old chat. The food and drinks are great and Sarah and her team are huge fans of parkrun! It's good fun and you can even get your result early!
In Case of Emergency - Please double check that your emergency contact details are complete and up to date on your parkrun profile. You'll find a link to your profile on your weekly results email and newsletters or via this How can I access my profile / account? link. It only takes a few moments, put could really help us to help you if and when you most need it.
Barcodes - Is your printed barcode looking tired or not scanning easily? There are a range of tough and durable plastic parkrun barcode ID tags and parkrun wristbands available via http://www.parkrun-barcode.org.uk/ These are the only UK authorised and professionally printed tags and feature the parkrun branding and logo, your athlete details and can also be personalised with your ICE (In Case of Emergency) telephone number and additional information including specific medical details. They come in a range of options and can be attached to a key ring, laces, and running vest zip or worn on a lanyard.
Volunteering - We do ask that each of you, if possible, volunteer 3 times over the year. It is thanks to our great volunteer teams that parkruns around the world continue to happen every Saturday. Harrogate is no exception and without your kindness we would not be able to put on this wonderful free event. If you would like to help out please visit http://www.parkrun.org.uk/harrogate/volunteer/ for more information or talk to anyone in a yellow vest on parkrun day and then email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved. If you still want to run don't let that put you off we have lots of jobs where you can still run !
