Some mornings are just made for parkrun. Good Friday had given a day off work and a perfect opportunity for a kit tidy. Made for a super light ride up to the Stray, fantastic.
As always its a huge thank you to all of this weeks volunteers who were simply amazing (special thanks to Caroline and Jeff for measuring and setting up whilst i enjoyed a sunny 5 k run, cheers guys)
We had "the fence" with us again this week. Meaning another reverse route week which seemed to work pretty well except for everyone heading straight to the start rather than the bench (ah well not to worry).
Out on the run we had some real speed demons with Mark RYALL finishing in an awasome 16:39 amazing. Perhaps even more amazing was our new age category record. Take a bow Geoffrey HOWARD inspiring us all with a 22.01 VM75-79 course record, amazing.
Every perfect parkrun morning has to be topped off with a good coffee and chat so it was great to head off to a packed Marconi for results, token sorting and a smashing Almond croissant mmm.
Just a few milestone shout outs.
Well done Kezia JACKSON & Oliver HARRINGTON you're in the junior 10 Club. Ian GOULD & Imogen IDLE are into team red with their 50th parkruns clocked up and Jim MAWER hit his 100. Last but not least David ROWLEY hit his 250th run awesome achievements all.
That's it for this week. We'll have a fence & some Defib training this Saturday. See you there.
Now for some reminders:
Post run refreshments - Join us at Caffe Marconi (2 Princes Square) each week after parkrun to catch up, process the results, have a coffee and a good old chat. The food (oh my, the cakes..!) and drinks are great and Sarah and her team are huge fans of parkrun! It's good fun and you can even get your result early!
In Case of Emergency - Please double check that your emergency contact details are complete and up to date on your parkrun profile. You'll find a link to your profile on your weekly results email and newsletters or via this How can I access my profile / account? link. It only takes a few moments, put could really help us to help you if and when you most need it.
Barcodes - Is your printed barcode looking tired or not scanning easily? There are a range of tough and durable plastic parkrun barcode ID tags and parkrun wristbands available via http://www.parkrun-barcode.org.uk/ These are the only UK authorised and professionally printed tags and feature the parkrun branding and logo, your athlete details and can also be personalised with your ICE (In Case of Emergency) telephone number and additional information including specific medical details. They come in a range of options and can be attached to a key ring, laces, and running vest zip or worn on a lanyard.
