Harrogate parkrun #402 run report

Well it was certainly a busy morning. We had 487 runners and walkers. Many pacers, visitors and and first timers. Weather conditions some what perfect.

There were a number of PB's. One in particular was our lovely Janet Jarvis who bagged her 100th run combined with a PB. Thank you to the many pacers who offered on the morning to help make this happen. Janet shared this experience with cake, family and friends. We are happy to report, her birthday celebrations for the week are active and definitely not what you would expect of many people in their 70's. Well done Janet!

More superb Harrogate runners bagged a mile stone run. Congratulations to Ben PEARCE on your 10th and Lee Roberts on your 50th run.

We had a fantastic photographer today who managed to snap some brilliant pictures: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipPryTiudu36OiVoddZR4jtw8GtWtW0LkyGvutCd-H05SEcaqerFQTrt2QIynJb4Pg?key=Q1V5eGFNMkh1MGVkVUs0U2ZERGx3aXRNN1VjaER3

A big thank you to the stunning team of volunteers who managed quite a number of things that morning. Fences to work round, altered starts and a football pitch. Thank you to those who helped the young man who hurt his knee, searched for a lost phone and jumped on to help scan and keep the funnel moving. The good news is, all was well. On a similar note, we were short of some volunteers for bar code scanning in particular. We appreciate all the lovely people who have since offered to help. parkrun is run by volunteers and they are all heroes, be that hero!

Next weekend is the big UCI. We are planning to go ahead. After chats with the various parties we see no reason to not. However, do check the Facebook page as we will post updates on there Saturday morning. We would suggest not driving as it may be busy.

That's it from me, see you all again soon
