Event 106 – 25th March 2017

Saturday saw beautiful conditions at Hatfield Forest with a huge crowd turning up to run, jog and walk round the forest. In fact we were very close to our attendance record.
A big thank you to all the volunteers for giving up your time to help make the event happen. Well done to the car parking team who managed to make use of just about every inch of the car parks.

Well done to Kate Pitts and Scott Cadzow who both joined the 25 volunteer club. We look forward to seeing you in purple soon.

With the seasons changing, it is looking likely that from this Saturday we will have Elgins car park available to us once more. This means we will be directing all runners to Elgins, with volunteer parking only at The Shell House.

Because the Winter Route is still in operation, we will be closing the exit from Elgins until the tailrunner has passed (4.1km). Likewise, the Shell House car park will remain closed until the tailrunner finishes the run.

Whilst this should not impact anyone, given that Elgins is a 1km walk from the finish, we appreciate that some participants might want to leave as soon as possible. If you need to make an immediate exit, please park at the Main Gate car park.

Parking machines are now situated in each of the car parks. If you are a NT member, simply scan your membership card for a ticket. If you aren't a NT member, a fee of £2 applies. If the machines are available for use, please pay for parking. If they aren't, please make a £2 contribution to the donation pot at the NT cafe.

Volunteering? When you park up at the Shell House, ask the Run Director for a parking permit to cover your parking.

If there are any further questions about parking, please direct them to the National Trust. To reiterate, no exit from Elgins until the tail has passed, please be considerate of all parkrun participants.

The Volunteers

Your parkrun only thrives because of the volunteers who give up some of their time on a Saturday morning & throughout the week. If you're yet to try your hand at volunteering, please consider helping us on a forthcoming parkrunday. We have many roles that can still be combined with running, meaning you can earn volunteering credit alongside your run. These roles are: Barcode Scanning (for sub 22 minute runners), Tail Runner, Token Sorting, Pre Event Setup, Post Event Close Down, Car Parking, New Runners Briefing.

If you can volunteer for this Saturday or future weeks, please drop us an email at hatfieldforesthelpers@parkrun.com
