Event #77 – 27th November 2021

What a week!!

After storm Arwan battered the country on Friday night leaving thousands of homes without power, we woke up to a glorious, winters morning on Saturday at Hay Lodge.  Myself and Archie arrived at the park early for the course inspection and expected to see significant storm damage but with the exception of a lot of leaves, a few small branches and a couple of icy puddles the course was in great condition.

Amazingly we still managed to attract 4 new comers to Hay Lodge amongst the 54 strong field and 10 of you even recorded personal bests.  Congratulations to all of you who took part.

Event#71 Run Report – 2nd October 2021

The rain fell steadily before we started and it chucked it down later but it was nice for running and volunteering between 9.30 & 10.30.  We welcomed 55 runners and walkers including 18 first timers of which 4 were completely new to parkrun.

Nigel Shekleton made his Hay Lodge debut in style as first finisher in 17.49.  Another debutante, Rhona Proctor was the first female finisher in 21.51.  Well done all of our finishers.

Special mention this week to Morag Carrie and Dan Cathcart.  Two great supporters of Hay Lodge parkrun since the start.  Both received their "50" shirts during the week and were keen to show them off on Saturday.

As ever, lots of thanks to our volunteer team.  You're the ones who make it happen!
