Highbury Fields junior parkun #44

Highbury Fields junior parkrun #44 - Welcome to 2016!

34 junior runners finished at the Fields today - Hope you all had fun.

We're still actively looking for one or two more Run Directors who are happy to be DBS checked and lead the on-the-day run organising! Please get in touch if you can help once every month or two.

1) Thanks very much to our vital volunteers - our run couldn't happen without you, and thanks to those who stepped forward on the day to help out.

Please volunteer in advance if you can (it helps to avoid our weekly Friday-morning-no-volunteers crisis) by emailing us at: highburyfields-juniorshelpers@parkrun.com - It takes 40 minutes: 9:10am-9:50am - and you get to contribute to something good! What an opportunity!

The future volunteer rosters are here: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/highburyfields-juniors/futureroster/

2) Register as a runner or a volunteer at
http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/ (Registering makes it easier to get your time and your own personal record will go up on the website).

Volunteers can get t-shirts and runners get wristbands. So even if you exclusively volunteer rather than run - please register because we want to recognise your contribution.

4) Runners times will be up on the website soon: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/highburyfields-juniors/results/latestresults/

There might be a few minor snags in the results this week - any problems, let us know at the email address above. Do remember our money back guarantee and why not sign up for the volunteer emails at the same time ;-) Thanks for coming everyone, hope you all had a fun run in the park. See you next week.

Your run directors this week,

Rob & James

Highbury Fields junior parkrun #41

Highbury Fields junior parkrun #41

20 junior runners finished in the grey drizzly rain on Highbury Fields today. How many spotted the pheasant as they were running round I wonder? And how many noticed that the finish tokens were being given out by a tiara-wearing volunteer? Watch out next week for a Queen & Princess volunteer combo…..

So, a big thank-you goes out as always to our volunteers - parkrun simply does not happen without them! And a special thanks to those who stepped up to help this morning when they arrived, very much appreciated. If possible, please volunteer in advance, either by emailing us at highburyfields-juniorshelpers@parkrun.com or by approaching one of the high-vis wearing volunteers on the day. Honestly, volunteering is so rewarding, please give it a go some time soon, or add it to your list of New Years resolutions. Juniors can volunteer too - our high viz jackets fit everyone :)

The future volunteer rosters are here http://www.parkrun.org.uk/highburyfields-juniors/futureroster/ Please have a look and see where you can fit yourself in. If you need to register as a volunteer (or runner), please do so at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/

Volunteers get a top quality parkrun volunteer t-shirt after volunteering 25 times. More information about volunteers can be found here: http://www.tinyrunner.org.uk/an-open-letter-to-parkrun-volunteers/

Runners' times are up on the website now, so have a look and see where your junior runner finished: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/highburyfields-juniors/results/latestresults/

Thanks for joining the Highbury Fields junior parkrun today, hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves. It certainly looked that way, there were lots of very happy runners out there.

See you next Sunday.

I have really enjoyed being your Run Director this week,

Deborah (mostly ably assisted by Princess Scarlett)
