Event number 9 saw very blustery conditions, with our volunteers looking a bit wind swept after set up, but we carried on and were able to host 107 runners overall, 7 of them choosing Highwoods Parkrun to be there first, we hope to see you again. In Windy condition if our non permanent signs do get blown around, please remember to look out for the permanent white and purple parkrun signs and you wont go wrong.
We also enjoyed the visit of many tourists some from as far as Whales and a volunteer driving from St Albans, arriving at 7.30 am to do set up, thank you so much, interestingly many of our runners have also volunteered over 25 times, its so rewarding to give something back.
We had a runner on this event affectionately known as the parkrun poet who travels to different parkruns and submits a poem, It's just for fun mainly and to celebrate the individuality of each course.
