It was a fabulous June day, the first day of the meteorological summer, and it certainly felt like it. Temperatures started out at around 19C but soon soared as it was arguably the hottest run of the year so far. We even had one parkrunner comment that although the course was tough, it was offset by all the nice people who were out on it, so well done to all runners.
There were a total of 101 parkrunners, of whom 27 were first timers and 20 recorded new Personal Bests. There were representatives of 20 different clubs, including Harborough AC and Tewkesbury Running Club and we welcomed tourists from Crawley, Frimley and even as far as Gloucester. As usual, the event was made possible by the contributions of 19 volunteers, led by Run Director Phil STOCKER, without whom Homewood parkrun just wouldn't exist.

Fastest time today belongs to Andy MCEWAN who completed the course in 19:40 and an impressive 75% age grading and the quickest female runner was Joanne LOCKER on 22:32. Honourable mentions go to JM10 runners Michael RALPH and Zachary BOWLES who finished 2nd and 4th, respectively, so definitely some names to look out for in the future.
There were a couple of milestones this week for Michael SENNETT (50) and Harlie CURTIS (50) as well as first parkruns for Isabel LLOYD-JONES, Christian BURROUGH, Sam SHAW, Elizabeth SHAW, Emily SHAW and Gordon SHAW. Good to see the whole SHAW family out and congratulations on your first parkrun - let's hope you can make it a regular thing!
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Homewood parkrun Results Page.
Great work everyone and hope to see you all next week!
