Beating the weather

We had 24 runners join us to beat the wind and rain in Fitz Park this morning.
There were five PBs including today’s first finisher, Oliver. Monty made it 80 junior parkruns today, as did Evie.
We had three first timers today, of which one was new to parkrun.

We had Stephen Wilson visit us from Grand Day Out Photography and he’s very kindly allowed us to view his pictures. I’ll post a link as soon as they are available.

We have a new instagram page, where pictures can be seen from the events. This can be found here: @keswickjpr.

The results are processed and on the website now.

And there are more on this google photos page:

A call out to older children to come to Keswick junior parkrun. If you're a bit older, you might be thinking 2km is a bit too easy and you're regularly running the Saturday 5km event anyway. Well 2km is just another training tool in your armoury. A different animal to 5km. Our course record is 6:50, set by Charlie Neece on 28th July 2019. Other junior parkrun course records are sub-7 minutes. That could be something to aim for for older runners. Also a bit of competition makes it more interest and fun for all concerned.
As ever, though, junior parkrun is for all abilities. And we look forward to seeing you all on a Sunday morning.

Keswick junior parkrun is grateful for our funders, which include George Fisher outdoor wear, the Embleton Spa Hotel and Mickledore Travel. A full list of our funders can be found here.

We had another great show of volunteers today, but we're always after volunteers. Please email us at, send a message via our Facebook page or send us a tweet to @keswickjpr.
