Last week, the beer festival, with its usual eccentricities. This week we welcomed a slightly different crowd to parkrun, as the Lakesman Ironman Triathletes are in town. It still brought with it its share of eccentricities. An ironman is eccentric in itself of course, but the guy's in the speedos were with us, in increased number I thought (or do I just notice them more!?), and with ladies in swimming gear, too, now. It was impressive to see so many runners ready to take on our parkrun course, the day before a 4km swim in the lake, 180km on the bike and a marathon. If you are able to turn out and support tomorrow, I am sure it will be really appreciated. Good luck to all involved, and thanks for joining us today.
It was nice to check out the course in dry conditions today, before declaring the run ready to go. The tranquility of the route at 7:30 is shown below.
This contrasted nicely to an hour or so later as 300 people gathered on the platform ready to enjoy the run!
Results are all online, and I'll finish by saying a big thank you as always to the efficient volunteer team who helped the event happen. If you would like to be involved next week, please email me at keswick.parkrun.com and I'll add you to the roster.
