Today was our Kettering #Virtual #notaparkrun #2
Ably, expertly and a lot calmer than last weekend, our event today kicked off by our Kettering parkrun #ED Rob, otherwise (respectfully) known as #parkrunParkes, he had a 49ers hat – the hat challenge has been passed on to our next virtual RD but we still think Andrea’s unicorn hat is top of the list of hats at the moment. Rob also shared that his #lockdown new skill has been to learn to play the guitar. There is a very small possibility of requests at future parkruns – now if that’s not a reason to come back, we don’t know what is!
The weather today was blustery to say the least and a complete contrast to last Saturday when we began our #notaparkrun adventures. The Strava words of the day were ‘windy’ and ‘wet’. Well done to all who braved the breeze and set out to conquer that 5k. Whether you walked, jogged, ran (again, no one hopped!) you are all superstars!
Special mentions and shout outs to:
Rebecca Wigfield and Sarah Ellwood who both beat their VPB from last week by 1 second. Retirement is obviously working well for Kevin Moriarty who got a VPB. Carol Dean who smashed her VPB from last weekend by a massive 6 minutes and 22 seconds. Nick Begy who took 9 minutes 22 seconds off his VPB time. Lorraine Hogg also MAHOOSIVELY smashed her VPB by 28 minutes and 35 seconds! We were joined today by #TeamBailey – big shout out to them… our parkrun regulars!
We wonder what the weather will bring us next weekend. Same again next Saturday?
Thanks for taking part, for being part of the great #parkrunfamily, albeit it virtually.
