Kettering #Virtual #notaparkrun #Event3

Well in the words of a well known redtop “Phew What A Scorcher!” – it was distinctly sticky out there today. This virtual #notaparkrun is brought to you by the strava words ‘hot’ and ‘warm’ and ‘melting’.

We were delighted to welcome our first ever Virtual Guest Run Director – the most excellent Mr Shane Sharkey, Event Director of Melton Mowbray parkrun. As you may well know Melton Mowbray started this whole virtual #notaparkun thing off over 10 weeks ago. We’re very pleased to be able to follow in their virtual footsteps and we give a big shout out to all our chums in the parkrun family at Melton.

Shane did us proud hosting our Facebook live pre-run brief in his Sharkrun outfit and is definitely leading the virtual RD table for daft outfits/hats. Whatever will next week’s Virtual RD be wearing??? One thing’s for sure – if it’s as hot as this week maybe less will be more???

Richard Vater, who paced Andrea to her PB last year got 30.33 in his VPR time today, which is the PB that Andrea was chasing today. Co-incidence?

We were joined by Atiqah Halim – a first time #virtual #notaparkrun-er from Singapore!

Helen Hood joined in the fun today – welcome Helen!

Sending get well wishes to Dawn Jenkinson who tell us she sustained an injury this morning rolling her ankle down a rabbit hole in Isham’s #virtual #notaparkrun – She struggled to finish but in true parkrun style and with determination she did!

Well done to Stacey Evans– she set it last week in the wind and rain and today, equalled it in the hot sunshine.

Kevin Moriarty continues to enjoy retirement by scoring a PB for the third week in a row!

And that’s all for now – see you next week for #Virtual event number 4! Stay Safe and love parkrun!
