Kettering #virtual #notparkrun : Event #9 Run report
25/07/2020 #VirtualRD David Irwin @ Spaldwick #notparkrun
Thank you to David, our virtual RD this morning. Some of you may have seen David at our parkrun – he has one of the original parkrun Adidas tops and I certainly have top envy!
The weather was a mixed bag today – sometimes hot, sometimes cold, then the rain and thunder and lightning came…. But it was mainly muggy. Those who achieved a virtual PB were simply jubilant, and deservedly so. It’s also good to see some parkrunners getting out there and having a holiday. We were joined by #virtual runners in Devon, Motherwell, Cornwall and Norfolk (which is surprisingly hilly apparently!) Enjoy the break, the ice creams and the fish and chips!
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY - 25 July
Since parkrun started there have been 2 opportunities to parkrun on Sat 25 July... Today was the 3rd if in NZ
Sat 25 July 2009, Sat 25 July 2015
The next Opportunities will be Sat 25 July 2026, Sat 25 July 2037, Sat 25 July 2043
Shout outs to:
Kevin #Imretired Moriarty – it seems he may have peaked last week as this week, for the first time in virtual #notaparkrun history, Kevin only equalled his VPB from last week. Come on Kevin… pressure’s on for next week! Seriously though, well done!
Happy birthday for Monday for Andrea Crellin, who would have been our RD this weekend if we’d been in Kettering. We hope there’s lots of cake Andrea!
Welcome back to Edwina Stanger who joined the fun in our first week and came back today, slicing a massive 3 minutes off her time and getting a great virtual PB. Well done!
Liz Smith had an excellent pacesetter this morning, smashing more than an incredible minute of her virtual PB time! Great work Liz! (and Mark!)
Huge congratulations to Keris Hooker who got a virtual PB at 30.01 – that sub 30 5k time is there Keris… good luck for next weekend!
That’s all for this week. I’m off to celebrate my birthday! Happy holidays to all who are on theirs. Happy holidays to those who are planning one. Keep safe – same again next week – bring a friend? #staysafe #parkrunfamily. Andrea and the #KPR team
