Super Mark Goes Ballistic Weather Was Atrocious!
Mary Poppins umbrella would certainly have been useful this morning before the off as the heavens opened. A hardy 237 runners we’re at the start today where the wet, muddy conditions were very apt to reflect on the brave soldiers who fought on our behalf 100 years ago. Mark Shaw did a magnificent job in leading a minutes silence in remembrance which was adhered to even by all the excited dogs waiting to get going!
RD Luke Holway then did the usual briefing (done like an RD with years of experience, not just his 2nd time.) Congratulations to Julian Budd on run 100, Mike Hansen 50, Marnie Broomby 50 and Dawn Walker Volunteer 25. It should be noted that Dawn has only just completed her 50th run too, so has a volunteer ratio of 1:2runs, great work Dawn. The run was won narrowly by Mark Jeffreys ahead of James Woolf with Lucy Commander once again the first lady home.
Well done to all that ran today in hard conditions. It was also good to see Parkrun tourists from Erme Valley Harriers & Dursley Running Club. We hope you enjoyed the stunning scenery Killerton has to offer and will come and visit again soon.
