Killerton # 444 30th November 2019.

So Saturday was the second running of our Winter route and the underfoot conditions were much better than last week. However, there were one or two tweaks made! The first at the start where the line was brought forward a little; the second at the Finish Funnel which was moved slightly further along the track and the third at Ellerhayes Bridge corner. Here the corner was moved up the track to allow runners better underfoot conditions. There is a small step up from the track on to the field but having been at this corner as Marshal, I don't think it caused too many problems.

For those more vigilant runners, you may have noticed some parkrun tape tied to a few branches along the  farm track and into Columbjohn Wood, just before the first hill. This was suggested as a way to improve the navigation of the route for those taking part. We hope this was the case.

Once again there were many positive comments from runners both visitors and regulars. Indeed, one of our more experienced Killerton parkrunners, Lucy Commander, was heard to say as she passed me at M1,

"I really love this course!!"

Thank you Lucy for your affirmation. We hope it grows on other runners. From the times recorded it would appear that runners are getting faster! So well done to all those who took part both volunteers and runners.

Run progress report.

As this month runners have made use of two routes, it would seem inappropriate to post information about progress as our Winter route may well have changed individual times. The next progress report will therefore be at the end of next month when runners have used the route for a full month.

Happy parkrunning!

Run Report.

A slightly chilly start,but......DRY !! The start was not bad going, a lot less puddles, my feet stayed dry! (I did have to jump to avoid the big ones!). I plodded gently round and then the fun muddy uphill finish! Everyone seemed very happy today, and why not, it is such a fun course! Maybe not for a pb but just really great fun.  Can't wait for next week!!
