Scary Halloween Fancy Dress run – 2 Nov

We will be holding our Scary Halloween Fancy Dress parkrun on 2 Nov 19 when all runners are encouraged to wear something Halloween (2)

There will be a prize for the best Male/Female and youngster in fancy dress. There will also be something for every tenth runner at the finish.

Its also coffee and cake time again, so do bring in cakes or anything else that you think that might be tasty to share with your parkrun friends and help make it a Halloween party to remember.

This is also a Lynnsport Ladybirds Volunteer Take-Over day so expect to see plenty of red and black spots!

Swaffham parkrun – Start-Up Open Evening

We are in the process of setting up a parkrun at Swaffham in the New Year.

There will be an open evening held at Swaffham Assembly Rooms, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, 22nd November.

I am looking for some keen parkrunners who can help me out with talking to interested people who attend the evening.

I would give a full brief of what’s required but it will be along the lines of talking to people about the parkrun ethos and some of the important rules, about registering, running and volunteering.

If anyone is interested in helping me out, I would be very grateful. Please contact me on

Free Training Sessions – Get into GEAR!

Ryston Runners free training sessions for Bespak Grand East Anglia Run

Sessions extended into April

When: Wednesdays between 7 and 8 pm

Where: Lynnsport

Weekly until: 23 April

The weekly sessions will be led by UK Athletics qualified coaches. Aimed at beginners and improvers, the sessions will include track work, practice runs and practical advice about equipment and techniques, helping runners to prepare for race day on Sunday, 4 May.

Previous sessions have been really popular and are designed to help people who are taking part in competitive running for the first time or for people who are looking to improve their techniques. Feedback from previous year's sessions has been really good.

parkrun Run Director and chair of Ryston Runners Andy Smith says: "Good preparation is the key to success in any race. These sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as regular runners and we welcome everyone. Whatever level you are running at, the sessions will be fun and everyone will come away with some great tips."

There is no need to register, just turn up at Lynnsport on the night and report to reception. The training sessions are free of charge. Participants should attend in usual running kit.
