Scary Halloween Fancy Dress run – 2 Nov

We will be holding our Scary Halloween Fancy Dress parkrun on 2 Nov 19 when all runners are encouraged to wear something Halloween (2)

There will be a prize for the best Male/Female and youngster in fancy dress. There will also be something for every tenth runner at the finish.

Its also coffee and cake time again, so do bring in cakes or anything else that you think that might be tasty to share with your parkrun friends and help make it a Halloween party to remember.

This is also a Lynnsport Ladybirds Volunteer Take-Over day so expect to see plenty of red and black spots!

King’s Lynn parkrun 8th Anniversary Birthday Run and 24 hr Marathon

8th Anniversary Birthday Party
King's Lynn parkrun celebrates its 8th anniversary birthday on Saturday 7th September when parkrunners are encouraged to wear fancy dress and to bring along party food to help us celebrate the occasion in style.
It is also hoped that following the run, parkrunners will stay for a few minutes longer to socialise and make new friendships with those you may frequently run alongside but still don't really know.

24 Hour Marathon
Hot on the heals of the Birthday Party will be the annual 24 Hour Marathon, which will go through until 9 am Sunday morning. To take part all that is required is for runners to run (or walk) the course for an hour of their choice at anytime, day or night, up until 9 am Sunday morning. You can, of course, run for longer and if you haven't ever run during the middle of the night well now is you chance to do just that.

We also use the opportunity to raise funds by asking for donations towards improvements in The Walks and have contributed to a number of projects which have also been of benefit to parkrun.

This year we are looking at adding a PA system to the cafe and additional permanent picnic benches in the area of the finish.

The cafe will be open for longer for us and a Registration tent will be set up adjacent to the cafe, which will be manned throughout the 24hr period.. All runners are requested to check in with Registration, where hot and cold drinks and snacks will also be available.

This is the fifth year that we have held the event and so far we have always managed to have runners on the course throughout the 24 hour period, so please think about what time you would like to run and sign up to take part. Last year we collectively ran over 1,000 miles throughout the period so lets see if we can beat that and make this year as successful as those in the past.

Swaffham parkrun – Start-Up Open Evening

We are in the process of setting up a parkrun at Swaffham in the New Year.

There will be an open evening held at Swaffham Assembly Rooms, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, 22nd November.

I am looking for some keen parkrunners who can help me out with talking to interested people who attend the evening.

I would give a full brief of what’s required but it will be along the lines of talking to people about the parkrun ethos and some of the important rules, about registering, running and volunteering.

If anyone is interested in helping me out, I would be very grateful. Please contact me on

KL parkrun New Years Day Run – 1st Jan 2018

KL parkrun will again be holding a special New Years Day run, starting in The Walks at the usual 9 am.

The run will of course count towards your tee shirts so don't miss the opportunity to get an extra run in and start the New Year off with a resolution to get running.

New Year’s Day parkrun

King's Lynn will again be holding a New Year's Day parkrun in addition to the normal Saturday morning runs. It will start at 9 am as usual and will be a great opportunity to shake off the night before.
Volunteers will also be needed so if you don't fancy running and can still make it out of bed why not come along anyway.
