Event number 206
30th November 2019
67 people, including tourists from Swansea and Saundersfoot, braved the chilly start to the day and ran, jogged and walked the course. 4 were first timers and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. This included our overall race winner, Matthew REES from Swansea Harriers who posted an impressive time of 17:08, over a minute quicker than his previous visit to Lydney in May. Thomas PHILLIPS, Louise INSALL, Matthew HOWARD, Christine WORTHY, Tom BAKER and Lyn MOORE also ran their best times, some achievement in the cold and muddy conditions. Today’s female winner was Chloe MORGAN, all the more impressive as she runs in the JW11-14 category. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.
Graham WORTHY completed his 100th parkrun today and Stuart DUNCAN his 50th. Both will be looking forward to receiving their smart new milestone T-shirts soon. Fiona CREASEY ran her 50th parkrun of 2019, having run the New Year’s Day double and 48 consecutive Saturdays since. Fiona has been spurred on by a fundraising challenge for Target Ovarian Cancer. Within the 50, she has run a parkrun beginning with every letter of the charity’s name. To mark the end of her fundraising journey today, Fiona brought homemade cakes which were enjoyed by many and raised £44 for this worthwhile cause. Thank you to everyone who donated.
