Before I handover to Heather for today's run report I just wanted to add a short contribution!
Thank you to the rest of the core team for your help and support to make today possible! Thank you to the amazing efforts of everyone at parkrun HQ and all of the amazing Ambassadors that have been involved in helping parkrun return in England today. And finally, thank YOU, our incredible parkrun community of walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and supporters. YOU are what made today possible and it was AMAZING!!
As mentioned in my run briefing this morning a couple of special mentions! Well Done to Josie Wright for her 100th parkrun and Amy Marsh for her 100th time as a volunteer.
Well Done to anyone else that achieved a milestone today - please do let us know if you are celebrating birthdays and milestones and we will announce them if we can and certainly mention them on social media or in our weekly run report.
It was also good to welcome some tourists today and a particular welcome to the UK to Monica Clements who ran her first UK parkrun today after moving here from South Africa. She's also keen to get involved as a regular volunteer having been an Event Director in SA!!
We'll be back to do it all again next Saturday!!
Many thanks once again to you all!

It’s good to be back! From our first parkrun at Macclesfield on 28 April 2018, it took us just under 2 years to reach our 99th on 14 March 2020 - and then we had to wait a very long 16 months for our 100th.
This week 256 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 39 were first timers at Macclesfield and 13 of whom were running their first ever parkrun. Despite the course change, and extra distance 19 recorded new Personal Bests. Well done to Rob Wood, back in his familiar place as first finisher, and a shout out to First Timer Cheryl Noden who was first female finisher!
The course had been amended slightly to give a more socially-distanced start - which meant three laps of the park instead of two (although thankfully only twice up the Upwards Flat section - the last lap took the familiar finish route round the tennis courts and up the funnel) and a slight lengthening of the course to 5.2km - so a particular well done to anyone who managed a new Personal Best!
But in many ways it was a Personal Best to all of us - back in our favourite place on a Saturday morning. Many thanks to the Core Team for all their hard work in planning for the return. See you all next week!
