Worth saying again.... Happy 2020 everyone!
Another amazingly busy event last week with 352 enjoying the rather splendid conditions - a slight chill but no wind and some sunshine at times. Perfect weather for running and according to the results, 23 of you achieved a PB
Here's a small sample of this week's photos (thanks Paul!).. For the whole album just click on the image below to hyperjump over to our new 2020 photo album:
With it being the start of a new year etc. super stats-man Neal has sent some stats for the top all-time Malling attendances. No surprise perhaps that Mr Blount is reigning supreme at No.1 which probably makes him a very shiny gold level obsessive - well done Neal!
Sadly now with Christmas and New Year fading into the distant memory - like a bad curry, we say 'goodbye' to being able to do more parkruns in two weeks than you can shake a stick at. Sad times.
Being January the big question now is when does the snow and ice start! Keep your fingers x'd but please do always check for cancellations before setting out. If your first choice event is cancelled also check your second choice before shooting off. During the pre-Xmas flooding we had people turning up from a cancelled Maidstone only to discover we were cancelled too.
We had a number of official and unofficial milestones this week:
Phil Ladbrook (100)
Steven Barratt (50)
Louise Hammond (100)
Evelyn Eldridge (150)
Robbie Eldridge (150)
Well done all of you!
A quick reminder that following an unfortunate incident where our barcode box blew over and deposited it's contents in the mud, we no longer hold spare barcodes. This accords with the HQ position that it's much better for runners to have their barcode, and hence ICE info, on their person rather than locked away in a box. With that in mind it might be a great time to upgrade your sweaty dog-eared scrimp of paper with a lovely new barcode product and help keep parkrun free?
We'd love to say a big thank you to everyone who ran, walked, jogged or staggered with us last year and also to the many un-sung heroes who made it all possible. Here's to 2020 - let's do it all again!!
