Marshall Drive parkrun, Brotton – Event number 67 – 25th September 2021

Well it was warm and welcoming at our awesome Marshall Drive parkrun this morning. We had 50 runners which was even more than Flatts Lane.
It’s lovely to see families coming along, either running together, supporting their family members running or volunteers cheering on their family.
There was some real team work amongst the group this morning. In the event of flattened batteries (mine!!) and phones refusing to scan (Marks) two runners stepped in to save the day. Thanks to them.
We had our usual visitors visiting from places as far away as Darlington, Leeds, Manchester and London.
Well a short one this week which my son will be pleased about. It only remains to wish Alan a happy holiday. See you all next week.

This week 50 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 18 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different clubs took part.

The female record is held by Caroline LAMBERT who recorded a time of 18:50 on 9th November 2019 (event number 37).
The male record is held by Gregory JAYASURIYA who recorded a time of 16:13 on 28th December 2019 (event number 45).
The Age Grade course record is held by Sharon BULMAN who recorded 82.58% (19:25) on 2nd March 2019 (event number 2).

Marshall Drive parkrun, Brotton started on 23rd February 2019. Since then 1,223 participants have completed 2,865 parkruns covering a total distance of 14,325 km, including 433 new Personal Bests. A total of 95 individuals have volunteered 781 times.
