Mersea Island parkrun – Event 89 – 08 September 2018

Another warm parkrun with just a little light rain at the end. At Mersea Island parkrun there is a lot of talent. Yes, there are the runners and walkers, all talented and all trying to achieve personal goals. We have young Jess Widdowson who is a keen young photographer and she often posts photographs of our event on our Facebook page. Thanks Jess, and your pics today were of the usual high standard! And then today there was Tim Gardner, clearly an aspiring poet whose experience of the morning inspired him to write the following as he ran with his son:

pillbox in the wood

a young runner

sprints past us

along the seawall

unknown once more

Today our fastest runner Craig Mitchell was accompanied by his lovely dog Rio. Well done!
