Merthyr parkrun – Event number 16 – 5th August 2017

This week 53 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 30 were first timers and 11 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 13 different clubs took part.

Male placings:
Robert James EVANS (VM55-59) of Ebbw Vale RC, was first over the line in 20:18 - first appearance.
Matthew DAVIES (VM40-44) of Aberdare Valley AAC, was second over the line in 20:24 - was first to finish once before.
An unknown runner was third.

Female placings:
Katharine COLLINS (VW35-39) of Parc Bryn Bach Running Club, was first (13th overall) over the line in 23:02 - first time in 2 appearances.
Louise Stephanie EVANS (VW50-54) of Ebbw Vale RC, was second (14th overall) over the line in 23:57.
Kelly COLLINS (VW35-39) of Parc Bryn Bach Running Club, was third (16th overall) over the line in 24:28 - was first to finish once before.

The three highest age grades were recorded by:
Mark SIMS (VM60-64) – 75.95% for the time 21:29 (7th overall).
Robert James EVANS (VM55-59) – 75.70% for the time 20:18 (first overall).
Barry GRIFFITHS (VM50-54) – 70.53% for the time 21:26 (6th overall).

The female record is held by Lauren COOPER who recorded a time of 19:06 on 6th May 2017 (event number 3).
The male record is held by Daniel BODMAN who recorded a time of 16:47 on 1st July 2017 (event number 11).
The Age Grade course record is held by Caroline WOOD who recorded 85.67% (20:35) on 15th July 2017 (event number 13).

Merthyr parkrun started on 22nd April 2017. Since then 587 participants have completed 999 parkruns covering a total distance of 4,995 km, including 181 new Personal Bests.
