Event number 19 – 26th August 2017

This week 36 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 13 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.

Male placings:
Simon Anthony LEWIS (VM40-44) (Unattached) was first over the line in 18:58 - second time in 3 appearances.
Matthew DAVIES (VM40-44) of Aberdare Valley AAC, was second over the line in 19:37 - was first to finish once before.
Jonathan REES (VM35-39) of Merthyr Running Club, was third over the line in 19:42.

Female placings:
Louise Stephanie EVANS (VW50-54) of Ebbw Vale RC, was first (12th overall) over the line in 23:32 - first time in 2 appearances.
Courtney WOOD (JW15-17) (Unattached) was second (14th overall) over the line in 23:33.
Rose THOMAS (VW65-69) of Rhayader & District AAC, was third (17th overall) over the line in 26:24.

The three highest age grades were recorded by:
Rose THOMAS (VW65-69) – 79.17% for the time 26:24 (17th overall).
Robert James EVANS (VM55-59) – 77.87% for the time 19:44 (4th overall).
Mark DUNSCOMBE (VM55-59) – 74.90% for the time 20:31 (5th overall).

The female record is held by Lauren COOPER who recorded a time of 19:06 on 6th May 2017 (event number 3).
The male record is held by Daniel BODMAN who recorded a time of 16:47 on 1st July 2017 (event number 11).
The Age Grade course record is held by Caroline WOOD who recorded 85.67% (20:35) on 15th July 2017 (event number 13).

Merthyr parkrun started on 22nd April 2017. Since then 626 participants have completed 1,113 parkruns covering a total distance of 5,565 km, including 213 new Personal Bests.
