A hugely impressive 251 runners braved the early whisperings of Storm Dennis - from a marshals perspective it seemed our numbers were well bolstered by quite a number of intrepid visitors, seeking their Saturday morning running-fix (several other parkruns were cancelled by the weather, which might explain why an amazing 40 clubs were represented round Denbies this week).
It certainly was 'challenging' conditions; more than a little blowy up on top, and rather a quagmire in places - as one of our regulars quipped "should be renamed 'ParkMud'!" and yet, despite this somehow 8 people managed to squelch, lope and slide to PBs this week - how????
Some muddy legs (and very muddy paws - our canine runners certainly seemed to enjoy it) in evidence at the finish, but amazed that most participants remained upright for the distance - and all beat the rain home. Well done Mole Valley, truly *nothing* stops us getting our parkrun high; but now batten down the hatches for the rest of the weekend!
