Cancellation – 9th Feb 2020

Well, it's finally Friday and Storm Ciara looks like it will being doing its best to spoil everyone's weekend. Unfortunately, due to the high winds that have been forecast, we have taken the decision to cancel this Sunday's event.

As I'm sure you will understand, we take the safety of our juniors (and volunteers) seriously and we feel that cancelling is the right thing to do. Doing so now also gives you the chance to re-plan your Sunday morning although I'd suggest a picnic at the beach might not be the best idea!

We look forward to seeing you at a future event!

Run Report for Event Number 30

It was a bright and breezy morning with 21 participants taking part in New Milton junior parkrun event number 30. The majority were familiar faces but it was great to see 5 first-timers at New Milton this week, some completely new to junior parkrun, some visiting from Winchester.

Congratulation to Kitty Pickering, the first to cross the line in a personal best time of 8:20. Congratulations too to Daisy Gollings and Freddie Green who also recorded PBs. Also, well done to Mabel Jundi for receiving her half-marathon milestone wristband,

Thanks as ever to all the volunteers who were able make the event happen. Finally, thank you to all those who brought items for the festive food bank collection we arranged for this event, we're sure New Forest Basics Bank will appreciate these offerings at this special time of the year.

Run Report for Event Number 26

For Remembrance Sunday a rainbow over Fawcett Fields greeted the early arrivals to New Milton Junior Parkrun. For the most part volunteers, participants and spectators escaped the rain and wind as the morning weather progressively improved to become clear blue sky, perfect for a good run.

24 runners took part in event number 26, 6 of which were welcome First Timers at New Milton. Well done to George Park for being the first boy to cross the line for the third time in 7 occasions at New Milton junior parkrun, and Amy Snook for being the first girl, second overall. Congratulations to the 6 runners (Charlie Dewhirst, Leo Harding, Timo Green, Sophia McCarthy, Frida Jundi, and Isla Hanmer) who recorded PBs and to Louis Pocock who was presented his Half Marathon wristband.

Thank you as ever to the 13 Volunteers, without them the event can't happen! If you would like to volunteer please get in touch with by email at, we're most grateful for anyone who can offer their time.

Run Report for Event Number 19

Well done and thank you to all participants, volunteers and spectators who braved the heavy rain on Sunday 23rd September for New Milton junior parkrun event number 19.

Congratulations to Patrick Atkinson as the first runner to cross the line for a fourth time out of the four occasions of participating in the New Milton junior parkrun event. Also congratulations to Leah Johnson, Daisy Johnson and Isaac Tring for recording new PBs. A further congratulations to Daisy Johnson, Amelia Murphy and Bea Murphy for reaching, and in some cases exceeding, the half marathon milestones, wristbands will be presented in due course on a dryer morning!

It was a stoic and resilient effort by all involved, particularly the 14 participants. Let's hope for some fairer weather on Sunday mornings as we delve further into Autumn.

Event #11 Run Report – Sunday 29th July 2018 – Elevenses

Well, what can we say about the weather? After a run of 10 glorious parkrun days, New Milton juniors was finally faced with it's first challenging weather conditions for it's 11th event - and what a challenge they were!

Well done to all 11 finishers who braved the wind and the rain and equally well done (and a big THANK YOU) to the 11 volunteers. I believe one of our timekeepers, Rose Borthwick, was completing her 25th volunteer role - make sure you claim your purple t-shirt once your link becomes active...

We even had visitors from Hatton - well I think that was what was said although I was struggling to hear over the wind! I'm not sure you picked the best weekend to visit us!

Oscar Ewen Matthews led the boys home in 8:11 and Amy Snook was first girl in 9:26. Surpisingly, given the conditions, we had one pb today - Eloise Knight.

Hopefully we'll be back to the summer we have been having next Sunday and we look forward to seeing a few more of you then!
