The latest on Little Stoke parkrun

The outpouring of support for Little Stoke parkrun over the past week has been overwhelming, and it ramped up to a new level on the weekend as 98,208 people ran, jogged, walked and volunteered at parkruns throughout the UK.

#loveparkrun was trending on Twitter on Saturday as thousands of people posted their photos and personal stories explaining what parkrun means to them and their communities. We’ve been sharing many of these on our national social media channels and will continue to do so.

Amongst all the positive publicity for parkrun and the solidarity from our global community, we haven’t lost sight of the fact that there was no Little Stoke parkrun on Saturday. We remain in communication with Stoke Gifford Parish Council and while we absolutely respect their right to democratically make decisions on behalf of their constituents, we are currently questioning the robustness of their decision in this case.

Once we know more, we will of course keep you informed.

In the meantime, please continue to share your parkrun images and experiences using #loveparkrun and #lovelittlestoke
