Magic number 52 this week saw a damp start - out with the motorcycle water proofs for set up lol
A huge thanks to Run Director Liz Partridge who took charge this week and kept a tight reign on proceedings, allowing me to marshal down at the zig zags and remind myself of how technical our little course is - a definite well done to all the volunteers out in difficult conditions.
One unexpected impact of the rain was 'misbehaving' barcode scanners, the rain meant that many of your barcodes just would not scan arghhhhhhhhhh, so thanks for your patience as queues were slightly longer this week, extra special thanks to our extremely patient scanner Lynda Quayle and Liz Partridge who learnt the new skill of writing on sodden paper - at least it stayed legible for us to process the results trouble free.
Runner advice this week - please ensure you hand back your finish tokens when being scanned - as this week we 'misplaced' another couple to join the increasing list of 'AWOL' tokens. Token magpies be warned.....
We have officially entered the winter period, and as we all know that means the weather will become unpredictable, so please be prepared in the coming weeks for sun, rain, wind, snow etc.....usually all in the same day. Layer up and dig out those trail trainers.
This time of year also brings on the work nights out, so please remember that you may be to 'fragile' to run, but it wont stop you supporting those that can run by doing a spot of marshalling - go on, Xmas spirit and all that. If you are able to assist please contact us on facebook or take a look at the latest roster http://www.parkrun.org.uk/nobles/futureroster/
More importantly, we have our Xmas fancy dress event on 22nd December, your last parkrun before Xmas. Fancy dress all the way gang...……..
See you Saturday
