Nobles parkrun Event #93 – 14th September 2019

Back from a two week sabbatical, and boy we had missed it - honestly.

But the weekend started with a bombshell - our 'driving force' wasn't in the best of health when she woke, so we lost our VC for the day, and my 'set-up' buddy - Ali.
Thanku Kerry for stepping in to allocate our hi-vis heroes

The next hiccup came when we discovered late Friday that the central footpath was being dug-up! So Saturday morning found us with an impromptu 'slight' route alteration.
Thanku Arnie and Len for early doors assistance. We hope the works will be complete by our next event - fingers crossed.

The final surprise - I got to run!!!!!!
With the assistance of Liz taking on RD and the rest of the volunteering roles filled, I got my chance to do my first parkrun for what seems like forever, and completed, after a struggle, my 97th parkrun - that 100 milestone is within touching distance lol...….and my knee remained in one piece.

We continue to see regular milestones, and this week proved no different with our very own Peter Duchars hitting his '50' milestone, along with visitor Joanna Zub. Well done both
Peter is pictured here with our new 'Milestone HiVis'

A couple of reminders / updates

On 19th October we celebrate our 2nd birthday, so our annual celebration changes our format slightly. We are looking to repeat our mini awards ceremony at 08:45, so this will push our first timers brief earlier to 08:35, and ask all volunteers to be prompt for 08:30.
As ever we ask for your input for a couple of the awards.
Fastest male and female resident will be awarded from our statistics, as will most improved parkrunner. But, we need you to vote for 'Volunteer of the Year' and 'Parkrunner of the Year' - please PM or email your votes, before Wednesday 16th October.
Donations of cakes etc welcome, and fancy dress will be applauded.

University duties also call so we are looking at willing volunteers to cover our event on Saturday 28th, we have a takeover weekend that week and popular local running group ' Lets Run Isle of Man' will be in charge, with Liz Partridge taking on the Run Director role. Lets Run members will be helping too and available to speak to if you want more information in regard to this extremely friendly group.

Look forward to seeing you on parkrunday - with my side kick fit and healthy
