Normanby Hall parkrun, #113, 25th January 2020

The going could have been classed as 'good to soft' this morning, perfect running conditions, with only one faller, we hope young Isaac has recovered after his ankle twist.  This week 312 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 44 were first timers and 64 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 20 different clubs took part.  Results were posted in double quick time this morning which is always great for the volunteers carrying out that task as it means they get more time to sit and chat with parkrunners and eat cake!  But, the speed of results processing is thanks to both you the parkrunners and the volunteers.  Runners for ensuring that they follow finishing protocol by staying in order, always taking a finish token, and only crossing the line once.  The volunteers for recording a time for every runner crossing the line once and ensuring that everyone takes a finish token and have their tokens scanned.  Well done everyone!.  Only one minor blip today, our finish token #158 has taken a vacation!  If you're the one who inadvertently released it to the world, please reign it in and bring it home next week, it's needed every week, no rest days allowed unfortunately!

It was a bit of 'doggy' themed day today with a first at Normanby Hall parkrun, a couch to 5k graduation day for Cannicross doggies and their handlers from the The Dog and Running Company....

As per usual todays event, and all future events, wouldn't have been possible without volunteers.  Todays 'high-viz heroes' were:

Phil JACKSON • Rob MARSHALL • Karen WICKENS • Patricia WEBSTER • Mark BAINES • Caroline BAINES • Marina GOOCH • Graham SIMPKIN • Susan SIMPKIN • Rory LONGCAKE • Anthony MORRIS • Sarah JACKSON • Kate YOUDALE • Charlie YOUDALE • Dillon JACKSON • Pippa GREENWOOD • Lesley NICOL • John MCMAHON • Martin DRINKWATER • Ben LONERGAN • Susan V COULT • Paul STANNARD • Barry JACKSON • Emma PEARCE

Thankyou to you all for giving up your parkrun so that others can still parkrun.  Can everyone reading please consider whether you've given enough back to parkrun for all the free events that you've taken part in.  We need volunteers every week and it shouldn't be the same core of volunteers who turn up week in week out to make your parkrun possible.  Please give a little back, just drop us an e-mail at normanbyhall@parkrun.com with your barcode number to be included on the volunteer roster.  We promise you you'll love it just as much as taking part in the run.

Have a great weekend everyone, see you all next week at Normanby Hall parkrun.
