Oldham parkrun is cancelled on 30 May 2020: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

IWD – 7th March 2020

International Womens Day - and we'll definitely be celebrating in style at Oldham parkrun. So, why not encourage a sister, girlfriend, Mum, daughter, niece, Gran, in fact anyone female who you know! Get them to register and print out a barcode and bring them along. If they REALLY don't want to run/jog/walk, ask if they'd like to volunteer for an hour or so.

We hope to see you there.

New Years Day 2020

Oldham parkrun will host an event on New Years Day 2020 at 10:30am. We expect that this will be VERY busy and we will need a full team of volunteers and a few more besides! If you can assist, please drop us an email.

Christmas Day 2019

Oldham parkrun will host a run on Christmas Day. This year parkrun UK have decided all parkruns wishing to host on Christmas Day are limited to start at their normal time - in our case, 09:00. This will of course be subject to us recruiting a full team of volunteers. If you can help out, drop us an email.

Oldham parkrun report # 464

Despite living less than 10 miles away and having done a little bit of parkrun ‘tourism’, this was my first visit to Oldham parkrun. However today there were visitors from slightly further away, including Cardiff and Sydney.
On arriving at the park on a warm dry morning, it was good to see so many people already out and about walking and making use of the lovely surroundings, both parkrunners and non parkrunners.

After an enthusiastic introduction from the run director, I set off on the 3 lap course wary of the hills having seen the course profile. Despite it being an undulating course, the uphill bits were fairly short and sharp and the downhill sections more than made up for the inclines. With its wide clear paths, it made for an excellent fast course.

This week 222 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 19 were first timers and 26 recorded new Personal Bests.
Of the first timers, 7 were new to parkrun, hopefully not for the last time. At the other end of the spectrum, Angie Hart competed her 370th parkrun.
First across the line today was Shane Reading in a time of 18.44 with the First Lady across the line being Angela Champion in a time of 21.55.
As always today’s event was only made possible by the team of volunteers and a big thank you to the 18 of you today:

New Years Day at Oldham parkrun *updated time to 10:15

Oldham parkrun will once again be hosting the 'additional' New Years Day morning parkrun at 10:15 (note the time!). The timing of the event means that people may 'double up' with earlier events - THIS IS PERMITTED ONLY on New Years Day. If you are considering doing the double, PLEASE make sure you allow plenty of time to travel SAFELY between events.
