Penrose parkrun #209 – 16th March 2019

A tad windy today but still over 200 runners turned up to battle against it!!  We had quite a few first timers today and quite a lot of tourists - the ones I've remembered are Nottingham, Kings Heath, Chichester, Fareham, Derbyshire and Devon, sorry to those I missed!! Hopefully you all enjoyed our parkrun and will be back sometime.

We also had Will and Trystan from SwapBox with us today.  This is a new local initiative to cut down on waste and re use all our unwanted gear.  The idea is to give or take whatever you like, you don't have to give to take something as long as everything gets reused that's the general idea.  They were pleased with the reception today and will be growing the idea over the coming months at more local events and races.  Any unused items will go to ReRun who inspired the idea.  Well done guys and I'll see you next time!!

That's it from me, I'll be back in a couple of weeks.  Thanks to all today's lovely volunteers who were Dean, Hayley, Mick, Diane P, Diane W, Jess, Giles, Helen, Tabitha,Susanne, Daisy, Racheal and Evie - also Mr Morley!
