For the first time at Penrose, our event fell on May the forth which meant only one thing, Star wars day!! Star wars fancy dress was the order of the day. The lovely sunshine brought out over 300 runners including visitors from Norfolk, Thailand and even Jacinta Scanlon from Canning river park run, Perth, Australia !
It was my first time as run director but my fabulous band of volenteers made the whole event run like clockwork and with the guidance of event director Yvonne Turner, I survived to tell the tail.
The first unassisted runner home was Jon Barnes who was running his first ever park run and he completed the course in 17:32 !
Thank you to everyone who took part and everyone who helped. I hope you all had fun !!
This week 304 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 54 were first timers and 62 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 23 different clubs took part.
