Peterborough parkrun #294 – Big Bushy Takeover

Bushfield Joggers were back for a parkrun takeover on Saturday 26th January 2019. I had the pleasure of being part of an amazing army of 45 Bushfield Joggers club members and other volunteers who supported, cheered on and encouraged 650 runners, joggers and walkers around the beautiful lakes at Ferry Meadows – a big thank you to my fellow volunteers:

I always enjoy marshalling at parkrun and it seems that bit more special when I'm doing it with fellow club members. I also had my little boy with me this week to help cheer everyone on and to get some high 5's. You may have spotted us next to the bridge having a little dance to our cheesy music while cheering you on. I hope we didn't distract you from your running too much! It would seem we didn't distract a massive 103 of you who clocked up new a personal best – well done!

I hope the 60 first timers who joined us on Saturday enjoyed their very first parkrun – hopefully it will be the first of many.

First over the line for males this week was Isaac ELLARD in a time of 16:45. Second in was Jack CHENNELL of Higham Harriers, on his first visit to Peterborough parkrun, clocking a time of 17:07. Third for the men was Scott MEADOWS of Bushfield Joggers (yey!) at 17:40 - a new PB!

First female over the line was Philippa TAYLOR of Nene Valley Harriers in 18:54. Second lady was Natasha BROWN of Kettering Town Harriers in a time of 20:20. Third for the ladies was Ella ROBINSON also of Nene Valley Harriers with a time of 20:26.

Saturday's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Peterborough parkrun Results page.
