The weather was once again glorious. Seems like a lifetime ago people were shivering on the start line whilst listening to the pre-run brief. Weather this nice is great to relax in a field and watch 281 people grapple with 3 laps of Pomphrey Hill. How is it to run in it?

Thirty one people took their first steps around Pomphrey Hill. Fifteen people took part in their very first parkrun. Whether you are new to parkrun or visiting Pomphrey Hill, we hope to see you back soon.

Almost at the other end of the scale, Ella Burchill completed her last stint as volunteer for her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. Ella has been a virtual permanent fixture for the last year. Ella has now volunteered over 120 times. Despite completing her volunteering, she is back at Pomphrey Hill on Event 278 to scan barcodes. A definite future RD!

We had various milestones to celebrate. Joseph EVENDEN, Ben SMITH and Jack FOSTER all reached their junior milestone. Shaun AMOS celebrated his 50th with a top ten finish! Jenny GREEN celebrated her 50th with friends.

Event 276 had a new course record in the SM20-24 category. Conor KISSANE-WOOD completed the course in a remarkable time of 16:18! If your are interested in the various age category records for Pomphrey Hill, have a look at this page.

Looking forward to Event 278, there will be another Barking party! The climb #UpPomphrey needs a bit of a refresh. If you have a shovel, wheel barrow or too much energy for Saturday morning, please arrive at 7:45 am to report for duty.
