Event #102, 22 April 2017

This week 295 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 54 were first timers and 73 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 27 different clubs took part.

Male placings:
James ACKLAND (JM15-17) of Lothian RC, was first over the line in 18:07 - first time in 3 appearances.
Robert MAIN (VM40-44) of Portobello RC, was second over the line in 18:08.
Glenn BARDEN (SM25-29) of Croydon Harriers, was third over the line in 18:50.

Female placings:
Maya STONE (SW20-24) (Unattached) was first (17th overall) over the line in 20:55 - first appearance.
Leana ALLISON (SW20-24) (Unattached) was second (24th overall) over the line in 21:06.
Zoe MACDONALD (JW11-14) of Musselburgh & District AC, was third (31st overall) over the line in 21:42 - was first to finish once before.

The three highest age grades were recorded by:
Sheila STRAIN (VW65-69) – 81.68% for the time 26:23 (122nd overall).
Philip MCDOWELL (VM70-74) – 76.99% for the time 23:11 (58th overall).
Robert MAIN (VM40-44) – 75.83% for the time 18:08 (second overall).

The female record is held by Shona MCINTOSH who recorded a time of 00:17:47 on 11th March 2017 (event number 96).
The male record is held by Andrew DOUGLAS who recorded a time of 00:15:21 on 7th November 2015 (event number 29).
The Age Grade course record is held by Elizabeth GILCHRIST who recorded 90.65% (24:58) on 31st October 2015 (event number 28).

Portobello parkrun, Edinburgh started on 18th April 2015. Since then 5,090 participants have completed 22,917 parkruns covering a total distance of 114,585 km, including 4,869 new Personal Bests.
